L4D1&2: Tutorial | How to get free DLC | Xbox 360

For Those who don't have the MSPoints or the cash to buy MSPoints to acquire the L4D maps, here is an alternative solution for you to get them until you get the points to purchase them(Whether or not you decide to buy them legitimately is fully your responsibility).


Note: Doing this will NOT get you banned and you will be able to play the full DLC maps, unfortunately, I am unable to find Crash Course anywhere, so you will have to figure something yourself(like buying it) until I acquire a link for it.

Requirements:
========================
~You need an Xbox 360 and computer to do this.

~You need 2 controllers

~ WinRaR for those who don't have it(you'll need to extract the Profile and the DLC files you download).

~ Modio or XTAF

~Either a USB that is at least 4GB or a Xbox Transfer Cable(a Sony device with a 4GB memory stick and a USB cable works just as well). Don't forget, if you are using a USB not made especially for xbox, you have to plug in your USB into your Xbox first and configure it.

Text Tutorial:
1. Open Modio or XTAF
2. Open your USB Flash Drive
3. Inject the 45410830(L4D1 DLC) or 454108D4(L4D2 DLC) folder into the 0000000000000 (Downloads) directory
4. Inject E0000314FA661940(The Profile) into the Content Section
5. Plug it into your xbox, transfer the files to your HDD or play off the memory stick.

How to go online with the maps!
1. Sign in to your LIVE account with controller one and start up the game.
2. With your second controller sign into v SmyD v at the menu screen then sign v SmyD v out
4. Chose the game mode you want and there you go! Free Maps!

Didn't you read? I don't have the links for it yet, unless I can make a modded account that'll let other people use my copy of Crash Course, everyone will just have to wait.

What does one do to the profile? where does it go?

The Profile is what allows you to play the DLC because it has the license for it unlike your profile.

hey i did all the steps amd didn't work

Did you use xtaf or Modio? I suggest you try Xtaf since it's more stable, modio tends to corrupt the files sometime, also, did you configure your USB or transfer device through your xbox before following the steps? If you did both those things, then when at the main menu of L4D or L4D2 make sure you loaded your profile and press start in your second controller to sign in the modded profile, afterwards start a multiplayer lobby(doesn't matter whether it's Campaign, Versus, Survival or Scavenge) then with the second controller sign off, make sure you're on LIVE(any membership works), it won't work if your xbox isn't plugged to the internet or if it doesn't get a wifi signal.

I dont see any content folder OR a downloads folder anywhere, i tried with another usb memory stick but that didnt work, i use xtaf. is there something im doing wrong i did all the steps therally.am i supposed to already have a profile on the stick?Halp!

Oh, I see what you are doing wrong, the content folder is not shown by default, you have to make the folder, when using Xtaf, click new folder and type Content and inside that folder, make a folder named 0000000000000000 that's the DLC folder, when adding the profile, make sure you are in the Content folder and click Inject folder then find the profile and select it, afterwards, you go in the 0000000000000000 folder and inject the DLC folder(s), hope that helps, if you can't figure it out I will post an image tutorial.

This time everything worked, BUT when i plug the drive in , it says corrupted profile. and i wont be able to sign in with it, i tried again, and xtaf worked just fine.the dlc is there, but the profile only shows the gamerpicture and says corrupted profile.:/ .otherwise everything worked fine.

You Injected the E0000314FA661940 (otherwise known as the profile) into the Content folder, am I correct? I might have to try the profile myself, the most recent xbox update could have patched something with modded profiles, I'll get back to you with that in a bit, feel free to try again until I come back with an answer.

I've looked at the profile and it is indeed corrupt, I'm trying to figure out what happened to the profile, hopefully I'll get it fixed or something, have you tried rehashing the profile with Modio? This could possibly fix the problem, but I'm still going to look into this in case that doesn't work. If you need help rehashing the profile, I'll walk you through it.

I think rehashing would work, to tell you the truth Modio is not the best program to do so, I'll update you when I manage to fix the issue

Try this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it's a better modding tool then Modio, I haven't been able to successfully rehash/resign the profile yet, but maybe you might get better results than I'm getting If you're using Vista or Windows 7, run the program as administrator, be careful when searching for your Device and Console IDs, if you make a new profile on your xbox, move it to your USB and then use it's Device and Console IDs to resign the vSmyDv profile.

Turns out my computer is retarded and doesn't support that other modding tool, is there any way of getting this to work without that?-Thanks

You could try looking for program that rehash/resigns the profile Console ID with yours, so far Horizon seemed to be the one that has the most options for that, I am uncertain if there are any proper programs like the ones listed since usually profiles work without having to rehash/resign, I remember when I used a modded profile made by someone else to see if the hardened black ops DLC worked and I never had to resign it. I know who made the L4D DLC profile and have asked for a reupload, not certain when he's going to do so or if he even saw my message, we'll just have to wait.

i followed a diffrent tutorial worked out fine just one problem
i dunno if its a prob butit''s with a other game mvc 3 (i hope i dont get topic issues) but i got the dlc characters on my xbox and it says but when i start the game nothing changes i still can''t play with those characters any id what i do wrong ??

What game is mvc 3? If you post a topic in the correct section, I'd be glad to help and try explaining more clearly please, I would suggest you post it in the Console gaming section.

No Mercy is included with "The Sacrifice" DLC.

i suggest ussing horizon for the program to inject the files with. but thats just my opinion

I recommended it in a previous post I reckon, only way I know other than using hex editors to change console IDs and such, very useful.

hey it worked..but i need your help..when i play the Disc of L4D2..it says The Passing or The Sacrifice is an unsupported or corrupted DLC...help anyone??

Are you connected to xbox LIVE? (I know it's kind of a stupid question, but sometimes it's the cause of the issue) Most people are so if you play L4D2 while online, you should get an update, if your game is up to date, there should not be any problems unless you say no to updates when you are prompted. you didn't forget to sign out of the modded account that you signed in with on your second controller did you? that has to be done before you can get it to work. If you're still having the same problem alert me and I'll look into it.

well im newbie in this..this was my first DLC crack....well how to make the modded profile work again??..its said "Corrupted Profile" im sorry but im still newbie in this kind of cracked thingy

Ah, OK so that problem still exists... if I remember correctly, a previous Xbox LIVE update pretty much broke the use of it, thought you worked around that... that's a shame :\ I should have mentioned it earlier, but I completely forgot about it.
