Post by CDReborn Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:46 pm

I was inspired to write this at some point and promised my self that I would indefinitely write a fanfict of some sort , I finally started writing it and I will write it the way I please so no criticism until I've completed this Tomb, once I am done, I will unlock this thread and you will be able to comment freely about it and if you like it, I will start working on a second Tomb and possibly use some ideas you suggest to me, I will release one chapter at a time, weekly even if I finished writing a chapter beforehand. Here is the first chapter, enjoy Twisted Evil

***EDIT***
I'm sorry to break the news to some(if any), but I am stopping the weekly release of this story due to my lack of free time and other personal issues like getting a job, so don't wait for me to write another chapter, because you could be waiting a long time, just subscribe to the thread and you'll receive news of this thread once another chapter is posted, until then, have a nice day(or don't, whatever, I don't really care).

=================================
Chapter 1 - The lowest depths of the abyss
=================================

CAN, Shediac N.B. Decembre 21 2012 0530h

I awoke from my sleep by a high pitched yelp, the scent of blood and rotting flesh filled the air. The sun did not seem to be up fully yet, but a knot that was tying in my stomach told me to get up. The stench of death seemed to have gotten stronger when I opened the door to leave my room. When I got downstairs to investigate, I witnessed my dog's flesh being removed from it's body and being devoured by some blood trenched atrociety. It seemed to have noticed my presence as it got up slowly to look at me, then in a rush, leaped from where it stood and pushed over a piece of furniture so it could manouver over it easier, to get me.
I immediately reacted by grabbing my step-father's acoustic guitar that was left on a stand by me and swung it with all my strength to disfigure the creature's face; as the beast hit the ground, I bashed it's head in until the guitar broke in half, then proceeded in using the sharp neck of my broken weapon to jab it in the back of this creature's head and as a finishing touch, stomped the guitar neck deeper with my foot to make sure it was dead.
Once I had calmed down, I examined the thing that was eating my dog, that "thing" turned out to be my mother. I was even more confused and didn't know what was happening, something just did not feel right. I turned the television on, switching channels until I reached whichever news channels there were, but they were all off air, so I quickly put some clothes on, ate something, put on my hat and a sweatshirt, then finally headed outside to get some equipment from the garage.
It was cold and quiet outside, you couldn't hear any vehicles whatsoever. As I entered the building I went and grabbed my step-dad's nail gun, rigged it to be a more conveinient weapon and grabbed some nails as ammunition, taped my hands with hockey tape so I would have more grip and avoid getting any frost bite from the contact between my skin and whatever metal I would get in contact with for lengthy periods of time, like this crowbar that I decided to bring along with me. This is where it all began for me, it had been about three months since I had turned eighteen and my civilized future had just been burried in a pit deeper than the seventh level of Hell.

CAN, Shediac N.B. Decembre 21 2012 0920h

I had found no life left in this town, it had been overruned by "Zombies" as I chose to call them. After several nails were shot
into rotten flesh, I managed to find a GSR off the hoister of a dead police officer with 4 full clips of ammunition and an attachable pocket light. Now that I was slightly better equipped to fend off against these things, my confidence towards surviving got a major boost, but decided to keep the nail gun until it ran out of nails. In the distance I heard heavy gunshots and the sound of a revving motor. Visble enough to be seen was a truck and some zombies falling to the ground and few others chasing after it still quite far behind. The vehicle soon encoutered me, but halted a few feet away; a man with salt & pepper hair and hazel eyes emereged from it and pointed me with his rifle as I returned the unfriendly greeting by nonchalantly waving at him as I was getting up from my crouched position while ajusting the hoister around my waist. The first words that came from him were

"Hey kid! You haven't been bit, have ya"?
as he spoke in disbelief, yet somewhat relieved while still pointing his gun at me as I replied
"No, not yet anyways".
"Are ya still sane"? He replied
"Yeah, I think so, I seem fine to me" I answered.

He invited me to get in, I did since no one visibly alive was around other than him, having company made me feel more sane, at least I wouldn't have to talk to myself for the time being.

Here's the second chapter, I managed to complete it and get it the way I wanted... somewhat. The next chapter might be delayed do to some research I've done(I want this story to have realistic travel times) so it may not come out on time, just to give you guys a heads up.

Chapter 2 - Mercy does not exist here
=============================

CAN, Dieppe N.B. Decembre 21 2012 1215h

We arrived at our next destination and managed to avoid encountering a horde of zombies with only some of my nails and his bullets spent from the ones who were on our tracks. I was starting to get a little hungry so we made a truck stop at a gas station in the middle of town since he needed to put som fuel in the truck anyway. For a town that had grew much since way back when, which had quite the popullace, was actually empty for once, it felt like a ghost town with these parked cars in the middle of the streets. I went to take a look inside the gas bar while "He" was gasing up. A simillar smell which I first experienced when I woke up that morning filled the air when I got in, the noise I made, when I let the door close, attracted a single zombie that was in one of the isles. Blood splattered on the floor tiles after I finished bashing it's head in with my crowbar; I took my time to go to the washroom, afterwards gathered snacks and some canned goods before I walked out to put it in the truck, he had finished gasing up so I guess my timing was right. My uncle's house was neaby so I requested going over there to check things out and see if he still had his katana since I last saw it. We arrived in his driveway, I chose to go investigate alone. it was very quiet, time felt as if it had stopped, then I smelt it, the stench of death and and I saw it's faces to.I wasted what was left of my nails to suppress the opressors and walked from the kitchen into the hallway that lead me to the living room, what luck! The sword was still sitting on stands that kept it and it's snake skin sheath in place on a shelf as decoration. When I got back to the truck, we ate a little something and went to patrol the streets, to see if we could find some survivors or something. As we headed down one road, there were some military vechicles, but no soldiers aswell as some equipement lying on the street. We stopped and got out to see if could use anything they left behind.

"Lucky me! A C7A2, time to lay these meatsacks to waste. Here, catch"!
I said as I passed a riot shootgun to my commarade.
I've always been some sort of a gun "Fanatic" as you will.
"We should have enough rounds to last us a bit".

CAN, Moncton N.B. Decembre 21 2012 1247h

We looked up to the sounds of a Helicopter flying by. The pilot was announcing something. "All survivors! If any, report to the top of the hospital's Helipad and contact us with the radio, we will come to extract you from the vicinity". As instructed, we headed towards the hospital. We entered the hospital to find corpses lying everywhere, we just hoped they wouldn't decide to open their eyes and stand on their feet. As we went further through the hospital, all these dead bodies seemed to be what they are and not the living dead as we sought, it was a huge relief to us. One less obstacle between us and the rooftop we thought. We got to the elevator and called it down.

"What's the matter"? he asked
"Do you hear that"?
"Hear what"? "That"!

I immediately raised my gun and emptied it on the onslaught of zombies as they were running through the hallway on my left, the elevator was just about to arive so I took out my handgun and pointed it at the doors, they opened, it was empty so we rushed into the elevator and quickly pressed the button to shut the doors.

"That was a close one"
"Yeah, I only shot about half a mag before I needed to reload, make sure your shotgun's loaded".

We finally reached the final floor and needed to find the staircases to get to the rooftops then, while searching, the horde of zombies caught up to us, it caused us to split up at somepoint while we were fending them off; good news, I had found the staircases bad news, I had lost my teammate. There was no time to think about looking for him, I had to ascend. I made haste to the radio and called the pilot to get me, in the meantime, these meatsacks were being fed some lead until rescue arrived. Somehow, I managed to sprint to safety when rescue arrived, I got on left and had to leave that man behind.
